Bringing it Back to Life
Following its discovery, significant effort went into waking this classic up. The brake system was completely overhauled, including booster, master cylinder, hoses, wheel cylinders, shoes, and drums turned. The power steering gearbox and pump were rebuilt. A rebuilt Carter AVS 4 Barrel carburetor was installed, along with a new gas tank and sending unit. New radial tires and a new windshield were also fitted. The result is a car capable of a successful 70-mile round trip freeway drive to a Cars & Coffee event, demonstrating its roadworthiness.
