It’s important to note that boarding services at The Lodge are exclusively available to current patients of the Animal Clinic of Windermere. For pets new to the clinic, a mandatory meet & greet exam is required before their first boarding stay to ensure they are suitable and to familiarize staff with their specific needs.
When planning your pet’s stay, understanding the operational hours is key. For overnight guests, check-in is available from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and check-out is from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Should you require an early arrival or late departure, arrangements can often be made, though they may incur additional charges. For those utilizing daycare or bathing services, check-in is from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with check-out between 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Please be aware that the facility cannot accommodate arrivals or departures outside of these specific hours for daycare and bathing services.
Holiday periods have special reception hours and policies. The reception at The Lodge is closed on all major holidays, meaning check-in and check-out services are unavailable on these particular days.

Classic Rooms

Starting at $45 per night, each Classic Room includes a comfortable memory foam-like bed and three private outings daily (morning, afternoon, and evening). Ranging from 5 to 15 square feet, these rooms are assigned based on the guest’s weight and overall size.

Classic Suites
Priced at $60 per night, Classic Suites also cater to pets who feel secure in a contained space with a crate-style door. Like the Classic Rooms, they include a comfortable memory foam-like bed and three private outings daily. Preparing for Your Pet’s Boarding

- Bedding: The Lodge provides premium raised canvas beds for comfort and hygiene. For cleanliness standards, personal bedding (beds and blankets) from home are not permitted.
- Food: All meals are included, featuring Hill’s Sensitive Skin and Stomach dry kibble at no extra charge. Owners are welcome to provide their pet’s own food at no additional cost, but dry kibble should be packed in individual portions for the entire stay.
- Medication: Medication administration incurs a $2 fee per administration. If charges exceed $16 daily, the pet is considered a “Special Needs Guest” (see policy below). All medications must be in their original labeled containers with no exceptions. If not provided in original bottles, medication may be refilled by the clinic, if available, at an extra charge.
- Toys: To prevent choking hazards, items like raw hides, antlers, or bully sticks should not be brought.
Special Needs Guests Policy
The Lodge is equipped and staffed to care for pets requiring special attention, often senior pets. Pets designated as “Special Needs Guests” by the Animal Clinic of Windermere staff will have an additional $16 daily fee. Criteria may include but are not limited to pets with diabetes, mobility issues, those requiring daily potty pads or sanitary baths, or a high volume of medications.
Cancellation and Holiday Policies
Understanding the booking policies helps avoid unexpected fees.
- Cancellation/No Show Policy: Reservations must be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled arrival date to avoid a penalty. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before arrival will be charged 50% of the total reservation cost. Clients who “No Show” will be charged 100% of the reservation cost.
- Holiday Booking Policy: Bookings that include any day within specified holiday timeframes require a minimum stay of 3 nights. Shorter reservations cannot be accepted during these periods. Upcoming holiday minimum stay periods include:
- Spring Break: March 14th – 24th, 2025
- Memorial Day: May 23rd – 27th, 2025
- Independence Day: June 27th – July 7th, 2025
