Before polishing could commence, the painted surfaces were carefully stripped of any old waxes or sealants to ensure the compounds and polishes could work directly on the paint. While large pads cover ground quickly, smaller 4-inch spot pads were essential for navigating the Phantom’s complex curves and body lines during the finishing stages, using products like Menzerna 106FA polish on a white polishing pad for final refinement.

Once all compounding and polishing steps were complete, meticulous cleaning was necessary to remove all polish residue and dust from intricate areas like panel gaps, trim, and badges. Compressed air, used with appropriate ear protection, proved invaluable for this task.

Beyond the Paint: Engine and Interior Rejuvenation

With the exterior paint perfected, attention turned to the engine bay and the opulent interior. The V12 engine compartment, though initially dirty, was thoroughly cleaned and detailed.

Using P21S Total Auto Wash for cleaning and 303 Aerospace Protectant for finishing, the team restored the engine bay to a like-new condition, showcasing the powerful heart of the Phantom.

To ensure optimal bonding of the final paint sealant, a crucial step involved re-washing the Phantom. Due to the variety of polishes used during the extensive correction process, a thorough wash with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Clear (mixed at paint prep ratio) stripped away any remaining polishing oils or residues.

Following the wash, Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze was applied to enhance the gloss and depth of the dark blue paint. This was then topped with Blackfire Wet Diamond paint sealant, providing durable protection against the elements and locking in the incredible shine achieved through hours of correction work.

After an exhaustive 36 hours of dedicated effort – correcting paint defects to achieve over 95% perfection, performing a complete engine detail, and thoroughly rejuvenating the luxurious interior – the Phantom Rolls Royce Phantom was transformed. The detailers confidently state that the car now looked significantly better than when it left the factory, free from the initial finishing flaws and polished to an exceptional standard. Whether viewed under the intense lights of the detailing studio or outside in the natural sunlight, the results were nothing short of breathtaking.
