Detailed Reviews of Travel Smoothie Cups

1. Sistema Shaker To Go Smoothie Bottle

This Sistema bottle is my absolute favorite, a go-to choice I return to time and again. It’s budget-friendly and widely available online. I own several of these and find myself using them more than any other bottle I’ve owned.

Pros

  • Generous Capacity: With a 700ml (23.67oz / 2.96 cups) capacity, it’s large enough for a filling meal replacement smoothie, especially when incorporating bulky ingredients like spinach.
  • Leak-Proof Design: Essential for avoiding messy spills, this bottle seals tightly.
  • Easy to Clean: Can be easily washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
  • Simple Drinking Mechanism: Features a flip-open lid for effortless drinking.
  • No Integrated Straw Hazard: I prefer bottles without built-in straws as they can be difficult to clean thoroughly and pose a potential mold risk. This design allows full visibility and access for cleaning.
  • Durable and Long-Lasting: My bottles have held up well for years.
  • Transparent Body: Allows you to easily check cleanliness.
  • Built-in Shaker: The lid incorporates a shaker feature, useful for re-mixing your smoothie quickly.
  • Portable: Slim enough to fit in backpack water bottle holders, perfect for traveling or daily commutes.

Cons

  • Lid Cleaning: Dirt can sometimes collect in the lid when dishwashing, requiring an extra rinse. Placing the lid face down helps.
  • Thick Smoothies: Extremely thick smoothies might require removing the lid to drink, but it’s still easy to drink directly from the bottle opening.
  • Lid Alignment: Needs careful alignment when screwing on to ensure a proper, leak-proof seal.

3. Bubba 52 oz Travel Mug

Bubba mugs are available in various sizes to meet different needs. They feature dual-wall insulation to keep hot drinks hot for up to 3 hours and cold drinks cold for up to 12 hours. Some models also include a bottle opener in the handle. flying j dealer — mega travel plaza breezewood photos might showcase large travel mugs like these often seen on the road.

Pros

I particularly like the large-sized Bubba mug, which can hold a significant volume of smoothie, even the entire contents of a blender. The handle makes it comfortable to drink from despite its size. The drinking opening is adequately sized for a thick smoothie. The lid clasp conveniently attaches to the other side when open. The insulation is great for keeping smoothies cold on warm days.

Cons

The mug is quite thick, adding bulk and making it feel a bit cumbersome. The main issue is that it leaks when placed on its side due to an air hole designed to let steam escape, preventing it from being fully leak-proof. This is a major drawback for me as my large Bubba mug doesn’t fit in my fridge upright, so I don’t use it as much. It’s also not dishwasher safe.

4. Be Strong BeYOUtiful Smoothie Shaker Bottle

If you want a smoothie bottle that stands out, this one makes a statement. While many smoothie cups look similar, this design ensures you have something unique.

Pros

I find this bottle great for drinking my Green Thickies thanks to its rapid-flow design. It’s easy to hold, and the top is simple to open and close with a pull, yet it feels very secure and hasn’t leaked for me. The smaller sizes are convenient for kids and easy to carry, while the larger size is excellent for my complete meal smoothies.

Cons

While a common shaker bottle design, I personally don’t fully trust the lid design not to leak in the future, even though it hasn’t yet. This hesitancy prevents me from using it as often as I might otherwise. However, the kids love the designs and find the smaller sizes perfect.

5. Fruit Patterned Mason Jar Mugs with Handles, Lids & Reusable Straws (4 x 20oz)

For those looking to avoid plastics, mason jars are a popular choice for storing smoothies. They are air-tight and BPA-free, making them a healthy storage solution.

Pros

I prefer storing food, especially overnight smoothies, in glass jars rather than plastic. These are ideal for preparing your smoothie the night before and grabbing it on a busy morning.

The cute fruit and animal designs are a hit with kids.

Cons

I primarily use these for the kids or for filming smoothie videos, but less often for myself, as the 20oz size is too small for my larger smoothie servings. While great for fridge storage, they are less practical for travel due to being breakable, especially when traveling with children.

Hi Katherine,

I just wanted to tell you I completed the 7 day detox and I feel so great.

I have lost 30lbs but recently plateaued and have felt so frustrated.

I’ve tried everything from paleo and keto to the point where I didn’t know what to eat or how much and felt like even eating fruit was bad for me which thankfully it’s not!
