Character Dining
Character dining is a fantastic way to meet multiple characters in one go without waiting in lines at individual meet-and-greet locations. At Animal Kingdom, this experience is available at Tusker House, offering unique interactions during your meal. While this is a different kind of planning than, say, finding a [bucks county dachshund rescue](https://shocknaue.com/bucks-county-dachshund-rescue/)
, securing reservations can be challenging due to high demand. Making reservations 60 days in advance is highly recommended.
Tusker House features a rotating lineup of characters often including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Goofy, all dressed in adorable safari attire. This is the only character dining location currently offered at Animal Kingdom.
Tips for meeting characters in the parks
Meeting characters can be a highlight of your Animal Kingdom visit. Here are a few tips to help you make the most of the experience:
- Arrive Early: Character meet and greets, especially with popular characters, can draw long lines. If a character has scheduled times, plan to get in line at least 15 minutes before the scheduled appearance. Lines can be capped once they reach a certain length to ensure the character finishes meeting guests by the end of their scheduled time.
- Use the App: As mentioned, the My Disney Experience app is your best friend for finding characters. It lists locations and current appearance times, which is invaluable for planning on the go.
- Get Autographs: Many characters love to sign autographs. Bring an autograph book or something unique for them to sign as a special souvenir.
- Have Your Camera Ready: Whether using Disney’s PhotoPass service or your own camera, be ready to capture the moment quickly to keep the line moving.
What happened to the Flotillas?
For a period, Animal Kingdom featured character flotillas – small boats carrying characters around the Discovery Island Lagoon. These offered surprise, socially distanced character sightings.
However, Disney ended the character flotillas at Animal Kingdom in May 2024. While they are no longer part of the park experience, the characters listed above are still available for traditional meet-and-greets or sightings.
Hopefully, this guide helps answer your question about What Characters Are At Animal Kingdom and assists you in planning some magical character encounters during your visit!
